Warm greetings from Fan Lake
Brethren. We wish all of you a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year.
We had an unusually warm winter, but since a couple days ago, our ground is
white, the temperature is on 20s. About a mile south of us is all bare and
showing brown ground. We are glad of the snow.
We at the Fan Lake Brethren are all fine. By last Christmas, some of us thought
and dreamed about joining the I'SOT community. We would love to be there to
worship our Lord with them, especially at the Christmas time. But we are here,
and we are busy.
Dolan, our last foster boy left on February 16th. He is living with his adopted
father now. He came in August to help, and stayed for a few days. It was nice
to see him. We pray God will watch over him and guide him.
I don't know if you remember about Gabe, but recently he found his birth mother
and brother. They are living in Spokane. It was a happy event for him. We are
happy for him. He is going to Spokane Community College now.
We have two angels here, 11 and 12 years old sisters as foster children,
Stephanie and Traci. They are training us to be patient and loving, also giving
us lots of joy. They love outdoors, specially riding the horse.
We have 12 sheep and two horses, five dogs, two cats, umpteen chickens, two
geese and four parakeets. Seems like we have more than that. We hear coyotes'
cries once in a while. Oh yes, we have three rabbits, too. Chickens, geese and
rabbits were loose on our yard. It was fun watching them peacefully living
together. These animals keep us busy and active.
Don is working very hard with the computer business and taking care of sheep and
horses. He is the only one who can answer the technical support line, so he can
not get away very easily. But he could go to Seattle last November for FGBMFI's
convention. He had a wonderful time. He could meet the old friends. He was
happy to be able to dine together with our old Home Fellowship member, Roberto
and Marion Xavier. And of course, he could be with our rest of family, Mike,
Arlene and Eryn, Pat, David and Jim. Pat and Jim are helping a project Mike
got. Even though it was a short time, he had a wonderful time with Eryn.
Michi is busy helping Don with the business and taking care of household.
Shelly is busy taking care of chickens and cooking three days a week. Naomi
cooks two days a week, and Michi cooks two days. Naomi's health is not too
good, but she cooked today. Just this lunch time, Shelly and Naomi were talking
about be thankful for everything.
On last April, Ken Noble and Rae Jones from Michigan came to visit us. It was a
wonderful time spiritually and physically. They helped us so much with lambs,
weeding, outdoor steps which needed repair, hauling garbage. Don says that every
time somebody comes, Michi asks to take care of garbage. Ken and Rae took
garbage to the dump. Jim burnt burnable all day in the rain and took the rest
to the dump. Pat, too had to do it. "You must love to take care of garbage, so
everybody you love, you ask them to take care of it. Don't you?"...
How is your mother, Rae?
Last year, Kathryn and two girls were here, and they left. This year, on April
T, Kathryn's daughter Promise came to be with us. She flew from Mississippi.
Then Kathryn and her daughter, Autumn came in June. We were happy that they
came back, but they left while Michi was visiting her children in Seattle.
Unless God build the house, it will be in vain... We need to follow Him in
everything He wants us to do. And for this past year, we think He is training
us to be humble and be close to Him. We found out that God really takes good
care of us. But first we must let Him. Troubles are that we like to take care
of things ourselves and not let Him do it as if we can do it.
We are expecting John Steward to be with us in a couple more days. He is from
New York state and he is driving. We pray his safe trip and also we pray that
God build this place with John. We need more God's chosen people to function.
Naomi wrote a poem, and we would like to share with you.
Speak to me Lord and let me hear,
Let not my heart be of anger and fear.
Open my eyes and let me see,
Your wonderful path for me.
Take my hand Lord and guide me today.
Let me not an instant wander away.
I want to come so close to You,
For You are the only way.
You are the only way my Lord,
You are the King of kings.
I want your way to be my choice,
I want your way to be my choice.
Merry Christmas to you all.
